Breast Augmentation Thailand is also known as Augmentation Mammoplasty, Breast Enhancement, Breast Augmentation, Breast Enlargement and a ‘boob job’ . The breast operation involves using implants to obtain fuller breasts.
Thailand breast implants involves a surgeons inserting implants via different types of incisions. The surgeon will make the incisions in an inconspicuous area to minimize visible scarring. The particular incision option is one of the items that will be discussed during your consultation and so as to ensure the appropriate desired outcome. This is an important discussion hence why we ensure your Thai surgeon has good English skills – something often overlooked by potential patients.
This incision is under the breast and near the inframammary fold. After the incision is made the implant is slid upward and the your surgeon will correctly locate your implan behind your nipple. You surgeon will ensure the incision is placed in a location that allows for the appropriate placement of the implant and simultaneoulsy ensure minimal scar visibility.
Scarring from inframammary incisions is easily hidden under bras and swim suites and remember that with time the small scar will fade. With this type of incision it is possible for the implant to be located in all three areas behind the pectorial muscle.muscle – ie:partially behind and also above (refer below more details).
In the arm pit (transaxillary incision) The incision is made in the armpit. Due to skin fold it is a natural location and any potential scar is generally completely hidden.
The advantage of this incision type is that the scar is not at the breast, and can accommodate all three types of implant placement.
The incision is made on the perimeter of the areola -ie: between the surrounding breast skin and the areola thus ensuring the incision is hidden.
ie you may not be able to see a scar due to the colour and texture of the areola region.
Tuba incision or Trans-umbilical incision is a navel incisio. Many surgeons do not offer this method. We cannot assist with such requests.
The most popular incision is the inframammary (under the breast) incision. Approximately 70% of women opt for this type of as it is has a small complication and rate and also the incision is well-hidden.
The periareolar incision (incision around the colored part of your nipple) is also very popular. This incision usually heals well, but the donwside is that it is located on the front of the breast. Statistics show that there is a higher complication rate with a periareolar incisions eg: capsular contracture.
An armpit (transaxillary) incision is generally y used for saline implants with some plastic surgeons using this method for small silicone implants as well.
The belly button technique (trans-umbilical breast augmentation, or TUBA) to our knowlege is not used in Thailand and probably because the method is controversial.
Today many Thailand plastic surgeons choose to place the breast implants below the pectoralis muscle as this lowers the risk of capsular contracture and many state also providing easier seen results when one has a mammogram.
In some wide-spaced breast patients it may result in a space between the breasts – something often not preferred plus additionally when the pectoralis muscle is flexed there is a movement of the implant. This method is not ideal for patients who have slightly droopy breasts. The pectoralis major muscle lies underneath the breast and over the rib cage.
With thinner women there is not a lot of breast tissue to cover a saline implant. Surgeons noticed that with saline implants in thin women there was a tendency to develop waviness in the skin or a rippling of the skin. This is in fact very noticeable with textured implants. As a solution to decrease the potential of capsular contracture and rippling sugeons commenced placing implants in the area beneath the pectoralis major muscle. This placement creates additional padding and also more coverage of the implants and resulted in rippling to be a very rare issue. Silicone implants are softer and realistic in feel and look. Silicone implants are not as likely to ripple and as a reult the surgeon can position them in a subglandular position whilst decreasing the risk of rippling.
A possible solution for rippling saline implants can be to replace them with silicone implants.
Women that previouslylsy had larger breasts are frequently better suited to a subglandular / over the muscle implant placement. In the case of a large volume reduction with minimal skin shrinkage then the patient is left with a skin envelope around the breast tissue – just like an an “empty bag”. Under these circumstances it may be better to place the implant in a subglandular position as this should permit the implant to naturally fill out thebreast images ‘bag’ area.
The breast enlargement procedure is performed when a surgeon inserts your breast implant above the best muscle or behind breast tissue (refer image)
It is absolutely CRITICAL that you are not rushed thru your consultation and you very clearly discuss the appropriate implant size. We ensure we use hospitals where consultations are not rushed and your surgeon has good English.
Statistics show the women choose breast implant size without conducting adequate investigations about size requirments. We have a few suggestions that might help you.
Silicone Breast implants come in a wide range of sizes between 200cc and 450cc. These sizes are different from normal bra cup sizes. With so many different bra sizes it can be confusing especially as no two women are exactly the same size. The most typical size change we see is going from an A Cup to a C cup.
Whilst the surgeons we use provide lots of advice and help in choosing appropriate size you may care to find out approximately what size your require now. To do this you can complete the following tests.
This is quite a basic test and certainly does not give an exact answer as to your required implant sizes however for an immediate indication it is great.
What you have to do is fill a plastic bag with rice and then place the bags in your bra. This should give you a very rough idea of how large your breasts will be after the implants have been placed.
Obtain (i) rice (ii) 2 plastic sandwich bags (iii) a bra preferably a sports bra.
Measure rice to match the cc’s of the implant you are considering. If you do not have a metric measuring cup here is a conversion chart for you to use:
1 cup = 236cc | ¾ cup = 177cc |
2/3 cup = 156cc | ½ cup = 118cc |
1/3 cup = 78cc | ¼ cup = 59cc |
1/8 cup = 30cc |
Using the chart above, if you wanted to create a 300cc implant sizer, use 1 cup (236cc) plus 1/4 cup (59cc) of rice. The total (295cc) will give you a rough look at what you could look like with a 300cc implant
You can try it right now!
